Last night, we all arrived at the Accademia campus in Arezzo via the charter bus from the Florence airport or train for those traveling later in the evening. We chilled, I finally got to take a shower! and had a lovely dinner of penne pasta, salad and a tomato, basil and mozzarella dish that was so good and I'm sure good for us.
My roommate is very nice. Her name's Jessica and is doing the Arts and Humanities track here. There are two tracks. I am doing the Comedia dell'Arte track. Then there is the Arts and Humanities track. This track consists of Art History, Italian for Beginners and Drawing I. Students in that track got to choose two.
Today, we went through a kind of Orientation and toured the grounds so we would know where everything is when/if we need it. Then a wonderful lunch consisting of a really yummy breaded spinach dish, spaghetti with tomatoes, and a strange caper-like fruit, salad and frutta.
At 3:15pm, we'll meet up again and walk into town. We'll see if my new boots will comfortably take me to Arezzo. I'm so used to wearing my Converse, but I didn't want to look too American. Then again, they will know I'm American because I don't speak Italian.
More to come on la mia giornatta in Arezzo! (my day in Arezzo)
